Part of our ongoing commitment to renewable energy means that practicing what we preach, and invest in renewable solutions for our own operations. There's no better example of that than the recent upgrade of the Solar PV installation at our Tramore Road, Cork branch. In the [March 2016 edition](http://rexel.newsweaver.com/KellihersSpotlight/1j6imyt04lp) of the Kellihers Spotlight newsletter we reported on the installation of a 1KW Solar PV array at the branch. This small-scale system demonstrated a typical 4-panel array that could be installed on new-build properties to comply with the new Part L building regulations, and served as a proof of concept, demonstrating that solar energy is indeed a viable proposition in the Irish climate. Following the success of that initial installation we're delighted to reveal that our Tramore Road branch has now gone fully solar, with a brand new Solar PV installation set to generate 11,000 to 12,000 KWh per year. The new system will save the branch up to €1,700 per year on energy costs.
