Rexel Energy Solutions, the energy solutions energy division of Kellihers Electric, source the latest and most innovative Solar PV products & accessories. Through strategic relationships with key solar suppliers we can guarantee continuity of product supply to our customers.
The energy solutions team at Kellihers can design and pack kits to ensure your new-build project complies with Part L building regulations – and because we can supply PV modules from 360w right up to the highest power classes – you can achieve maximum output with less panels, when you use Kellihers.
With ongoing increases in energy prices, now more than ever, it makes sense to invest in renewable energy for both domestic and commercial applications. We stock products to suit both domestic and commercial premises that can offer the best in Solar PV & battery storage.
How much can you save with a Solar PV System?
A Solar system reduces the need for you to buy electricity from the grid. This in turn, can protect you against rising energy costs. By generating your own electricity you can cut your electricity bills by up to 50%.
How does Solar Power Work?
The sun provides an abundant, free source of clean energy in the form of natural light and warmth. It is possible to capture some of this free energy directly to convert sunlight into electricity using solar photovoltaic (PV) panels.
Solar PV systems convert light into electrical power. A photovoltaic (PV) solar system is comprised of solar panels, racks for placing the panels on your roof, electrical wiring, and an inverter. From sunrise to sunset, the solar panels generate electricity (DC) which is sent to an inverter.
The inverter then converts the DC electricity to mains AC (alternating current) which is connected to the property’s main electricity supply for use throughout your property.
Solar PV systems are made up of modules, each typically around 1m x 1.7m. Solar PV systems can be designed to fit virtually any size and shape of roof or can be mounted on frames at ground level. Solar PV can also be mounted vertically and horizontally allowing the system to form part of the wall and roof structures in new properties, although performance will be reduced with these tilts.
Grants from SEAI
This grant will help you install Solar PV panels in your home to generate renewable electricity.
|Solar PV grant||€900 per kWp up to 2kWp||€1800 for 2kWp solar panels|
|€300 for every additional kWp up to 4kWp
Total Solar PV grant capped at €2400
|€2100 for 3kWp solar panels
€2400 for 4kWp solar panels
Who can apply?
All homeowners, including landlords, whose homes were built and occupied before 2021 can apply. This is defined as the date your electricity meter was installed.
