At Kellihers supporting local communities is a fundamental part of our underlying business ethos. Kellihers Cork's recent donation towards a training defibrillator for the volunteers of Cork City Community Responders is an example of that ethos in action.
Cork City Community Responders Scheme was activated by HSE Ambulance Control on the 19th December 2012. The scheme consists of members of the public who volunteer their time and, in most cases their equipment, to assist their local community by attending emergency calls within a 5KM radius of Cork City.
With 40 actively involved volunteers the group averages around 250 callouts per year.
Speaking on behalf of Cork City Community Responders Mr Finnbarr McCarthy thanked Kellihers' Deputy CEO Ed Mortell and staff for their support of the project.
"It's very fitting that Kelliher's have supported us," he said. "After all our job is to shock patients!"
You'll find more information about the group and the work they do on the Cork City Community Responders website.
